We are proud to announce our new team sailor, Melina Schütt. Melina is a 19-year-old girl from Denmark. Before she joined the team, she worked with us as a tester. She has been freestyling for 4 years out of 5 years she has been windsurfing. She is a very promising sailor landing both grubby and onehaned spock. Last year she came second in RZM Denmark, a freestyle competition with both male and female competitors. She tried windsurfing for the first time, in Bork Havn on a vacation and instantly got hooked. After she came home, she joined the local windsurf club in Furesø, and this was her home spot for a couple of years. The last 2 years she has been living in Esbjerg, and she has surfed most of the spots in west Jylland. She is surfing on a Fanatic Skate with Neil Pryde Wizard sails. Aside from surfing she is graduating high school this summer and planning to travel and experience the different freestyle spots around world. She also likes yoga, and has plans to start doing and teaching yoga on SUP’s.
Hear what she has to say about her new sponsorship: “I’m super happy to be part of the team, and being a part in developing the fins. I started surfing with a prototype of the MS-1, which was a freestyle bamboo fin, and I really liked the fin and its looseness. Now I sail with the MS-1, which I like even more. I like surfing with the team, it really motivates me, to try harder and become a better freestyler. I hope being a part of the team makes me improve even more”
We are certainly happy to have her on the team, and hope that we can help her improve her freestyle skills. From what she says about the fins, it sounds like she is very happy with them, and think they helps her improve, which we are very stoked about. Stay tuned for more, as she soon will write a test on our fins, the MS-1 and MS-Weed.
